dating back to 1708
- a book
of minutes from Session meetings dating back to 1724
- an extensive collection
of Sunday School attendance books from the 19th century to the
1980s
- financial records,
especially from the 20th century
- a few old photographs
of Newtown, dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries
- a blueprint of the
church's cemetery, which was located across Queens Blvd.
from the current brown stone sanctuary
- copies of published
FPCN histories from 1902 and 1925
The archives
are not open to researchers. For research requests, please contact
the Historical Committee using the Contact Us form on this site. Note
that due to our limited resources we are not able to fulfill all

Other Sources
of FPCN History
The most definitive source of history on Newtown is James Riker's book Annals of Newtown, published in 1852. In addition, the New York Genealogical
and Biographical Society has some of FPCN's marriage records.
These were published in the New York Genealogical and Biographical
Record 56 (January 1925). The Long Island Division of the Queens
Borough Public Library (Jamaica, NY) has a good collection of
newspaper clippings related to FPCN and Newtown. The Brooklyn Historical
Society has information about the FPCN graveyard. The James Riker
Collection at the New York Public Library has some information about
Newtown. |
