FPCN member Ramel Racelis supports the Presbyterian Historical Society's Giving Tuesday campaign.
Giving Tuesday (the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving) brings together diverse networks of people, businesses, and nonprofits to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness that change our world for the better. This year, the Presbyterian Historical Society's (PHS) Giving Tuesday campaign is all about helping congregations. Donations received through their online donation page on Tue. Dec. 2 will go directly toward awarding additional Heritage Preservation Grants to historic churches that have fewer than 250 members--82% of all PC(USA) congregations. Heritage Preservation Grants cover up to $500 of the cost to digitize a church's official records. Every $500 raised means one more grant can be given.

FPCN received a grant from PHS to digitize some of our church records. According to FPCN Historical Committee chair Marjorie Melikian, "When I heard about PHS's Heritage grant I knew that it was our best hope to preserve our records for the future--not only for us but for the general public. I encourage all churches to have their records digitized. Your spiritual descendants will be so thankful your records continue on!"
