Pastor's Message (May 2015)

Created: Friday, May 1, 2015

Dear Friends:

Embracing the coming of spring, while surrounded by all the beauty God is blessing us with, life is special! As Christ’s disciples, our path of being a lifelong learner never ends - it’s ongoing. Welcoming a new day with an early morning devotion and prayer is not only meditative, it can also be spiritually refreshing on all levels.

There are many ways in which we have the opportunity to grow anew in our faith. These are times that God prepares for us. Listening for the Spirit’s voice within, one’s journey has all the potential of being a most exciting and fulfilling experience.

From a personal perspective, my life as a “New Yorker” has thus far been a most amazing experience. The new network of people and friends from all walks of life and places has certainly contributed to the feeling of being welcomed! Being a self-proclaimed collector of friends, I am blessed. Having said this, with my family joining me at the end of the month, we can finally enjoy this our new life together!

As a community of faith, our calling as followers and believers of the Good News of Christ’s presence among us, we trust upon the Holy Spirit’s direction. In addition, with our trust upon the Spirit leading us toward places where God needs us to go, and places we need to be, the possibilities are endless! No matter where the journey takes us, there will always be new places to visit and discover, along with the faces of new people we’ll have the opportunity to know.

It is my prayerful hope that God continues to direct us as a community of faith - furthermore, being visible far and beyond, reaching out to our fellow believers, as well as the unchurched, with Christian friendship and love.

In Christ,
Pastor Anette
