Sacred Sites Weekend May 21-22

FPCN is once again participating in the New York Landmarks Conservancy's Sacred Sites Open House weekend. The Sacred Sites program is the only state-wide initiative in the country to address the unique needs of historic religious buildings by providing the comprehensive financial and technical assistance congregations need to address their preservation projects properly

The church will be open on Sat. May 21 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and on Sun. May 21 after the morning worship service until 2:45 PM. The schedule appears below. Sat. May 21:

A display of artifacts and historic photographs illustrating the congregation's history will be open to the public throughout the weekend.

10:00 AM: Demonstration of the church organ

10:30 AM: Lecture on the architecture of the building

10:45 AM: Lecture on the history of the congregation

11:15 AM: Tour of the sanctuary's stained glass windows

11:45 AM: Walking tour of old Newtown

Sun. May 22

10:45 AM-12:15 PM: Worship service in the sanctuary

12:30 PM: Demonstration of the church organ

1:00 PM: Lecture on the architecture of the building

1:15 PM: Lecture on the history of the congregation

1: 45 PM: Tour of the sanctuary's stained glass windows

2:45 PM: Walking tour of old Newtown
