FPCN Cookbook Project

Created: Sunday, December 2, 2018

Our 370th anniversary in 2022 seems far into the future, but time is passing by so quickly that before you know it, the year will be upon us. To mark the occasion, FPCN's Women's Group plans to publish a cookbook. It will consist of recipes that will reflect the international flavor of our congregation. This is an ambitious project! We hope the book can serve as a souvenir and fundraiser for the celebration.

Members of our church have formed a committee to oversee this project. Anyone from the congregation (male or female) can be on the committee. Current members are Ann Redican, Sandra Chattoo, Charline Collins, Sylvia Williams, Elsina Riddell, and Dolores Joseph. The committee will meet in the kitchen in the first Saturday of each month at 12:30 PM.

We are soliciting members of the congregation and their friends to submit your favorite recipe, covering everything from soup to nuts and beverages. Please be as precise as possible with measurements - a "little pinch of this" won't do.

We encourage people to add an anecdote to accompany the recipe. Make it short and sweet, such as it was the family special or you discovered it on one of your travels. Add tips and places where to shop for unusual ingredients.

You can handwrite or type submissions, as long as they are legible. We want everyone - men, women, youth, relatives, friends, and favorite restaurant to participate. We might not be able to print every recipe - we must limit the size of the book due to cost. Each submission must have a name and contact information in case we need clarification. If you like, we will add your name to any recipe that makes it to the final print.

In addition, we are looking for a title for this cookbook. The person who submis the best title will win a prize. Three of the committee members will be judges.

You can put any submissions in the receptacle in the kitchen or email them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
