FPCN Garden Update

Created: Sunday, April 28, 2019

Our vegetable garden will be four years old this spring! This year, we will not have a special “startup day” for the garden. Instead, we will proceed with planting when the weather permits and the ground can be easily worked.

Although we will not have a formal campaign for financial help, we still depend on donations to defray the cost of supplies. We always try our best to keep costs low. This year, we started many of the seeds indoors. Any assistance with transplanting, weeding, and watering throughout the garden is always appreciated.

If you look in the garden now, you will see new life emerging. Vegetables that thrive in cold weather, such as kale, collards, spinach, bok choy, asparagus, kohlrabi, leeks, Swiss chard, beets, cabbage, lettuce, and turnips are already on their way. We will have peppers, beans, eggplant, squash, peas, tomatoes, and others when the weather gets warmer. Soon we will also be able to snack on strawberries and raspberries.

Let’s ask God for blessings for a bountiful garden in 2019!
