Directions

The First Presbyterian Church of Newtown is located on the corner of Queens Blvd. and 54th Ave., one block east of the corner of Grand Ave. and Broadway. Our brown stone building (see photo at right) is directly above the south side Queens Blvd. exit of the Grand Ave. subway station. The main sanctuary entrance is on Queens Blvd. The church office and parking lot are on 54th Ave. The Social Hall entrance is located on Seabury Street, behind the sanctuary. (Christian Education classes and informal services take place in classroom 8, which is located in the basement of the Social Hall.)

BY SUBWAY

SUBWAY: M or R train to Grand Ave.-Newtown stop. Exit on 54th Ave. side of station (south side of Queens Blvd.).

BY BUS

Q58, Q59, Q60: To Queens Blvd. and Grand Ave./Broadway. Walk one block east on Queens Blvd. towards the Queens Place mall (with the Target store).

Q88: To the last stop on Rego Park/Queens Blvd. Walk four blocks west on Queens Blvd. (towards Queens Center Mall and Queens Place Mall) and cross Queens Blvd.

Q29, Q53: The Q29 bus stops near Queens Blvd. and 56th Ave., and the Q53 bus stops near Queens Blvd. and Broadway.

BY CAR

From midtown Manhattan: Queensboro (59th St.) Bridge to Queens Blvd. Get on Queens Blvd. service lane at Grand Ave. After Grand Ave. make a right at 55th Ave. (one block after passing the church.) Turn right on Seabury St. (one block), and turn right on 54th Ave. (one block). The church is on your right.

From lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Staten Island: Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278) to Queens Blvd. (Exit 36B). Follow signs to Queens Blvd. Turn right on Queens Blvd. and drive in the service lane. Follow Queens Blvd. directions above.

From Long Island or eastern Queens: Take Long Island Expressway (I-495) to Queens Blvd. exit (Exit 19). Make a right on 90th St. (the street on the exit ramp just before reaching Queens. Blvd.). Pass under the overpass of Queens Center Mall and make a left on 57th Ave. Go past Queens Blvd. and make a right onto Seabury St. (the block after Queens Blvd.). Drive four blocks and make a right on 54th Ave. The church is on your right. (Note that due to traffic regulations on Queens Blvd., you cannot make a left turn from the service lane of Queens Blvd. onto 57th Ave.)

From the Bronx: Throgs Neck Bridge to Clearview Expressway to westbound Long Island Expressway toward Manhattan (Queens-Midtown Tunnel), OR Bronx-Whitestone Bridge to Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) south to westbound Long Island Expressway toward Manhattan (Exit 12B). Then Follow directions for LIE (above).

Parking: Free parking is available on the streets south of Queens Blvd. behind the church (Seabury St., 53rd Ave., 54th Ave., 55th Ave., 55th Rd., 56th Ave., Van Horn St., etc.) Paid parking is also available at Queens Place Mall (the round mall with the Target and Best Buy stores inside - entrance on 56th Ave. on the other side of Queens Blvd.).
