Solo Harp Recital by Tomina Parvanova Sun. Jan. 19

On Sun. Jan. 19, 2014 at 1:30 PM, Tomina Parvanova will present a solo harp recital at FPCN's sanctuary with music by Bach, Viotti, Hindemith, Grandjany and Tournier.

Admission is $10. All proceeds will go to repairs for the church's buildings, dating from 1895.

Harpist Tomina Parvanova will perform at FPCN on Sun. Jan. 19 at 1:30 PM.
A native of Sofia, Bulgaria, harpist Tomina Parvanova has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Ballet, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and many other orchestras and ensembles. In 2011 she was a harp fellow at the prestigious Tanglewood Music Center.

Ms. Parvanova was awarded full scholarships for her Bachelors of Music in Harp Performance from the Boston Conservatory (2009) and her master’s at Boston University College of Fine Arts in (2011). She has garnered numerous awards and honors, including first prize at the Bulgarian International Harp Competition "Young Virtuoso," second prize at the USA International Music Competition in Boston MA, and a selected candidate to perform at the 9th World Harp Congress, in Dublin, Ireland, "Focus on Youth" concerts.

Ms. Parvanova is currently on the faculty of Long Island City Academy of Music (LICAM) and holds principal harp positions with New York Repertory Orchestra and Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra.
